On September 28, 2016, partner Mr. Brendan Maier andco-head of China sales department Mr. Duan Yang of Australia Colin, Biggers& Paisley Law Firm visited Tahota Chongqing Office. He said, although the international legal service market of Chongqing startedrelatively late relative to the markets in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou andShenzhen, it has developed rapidly in recent years due to the increased cross-bordercommunication opportunities facilitated by the rapid development of economyafter the municipality of Chongqing as well as the policies tilt such as “One Belt and One Road”, “TheChina-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity”and “Free Trade Zone”. The international legal servicemarket of Chongqing still has big rise space in the future. Following Mr. Chen’sspeech, Mr. Zhiqiang Liu made a statement. Firstly, Mr. Liuintroduced the overall legal service environment of Chongqing with detaileddata on aspects of quantity of practicing lawyer, quantity of law firms,average business volume and average income of lawyers etc.. He also introducedthe communication experiences between Tahota Chongqing Office and foreign lawfirms. Secondly, Mr. Liu expressed his view on status of China-Australiacross-border legal market. He said, due to the vast land and rich mineralresources in Australia, many Chinese enterprises have invested in real estateindustry and mining industry in Australia in recent years. Although there weremany unexpected turns, the overall development situation was positive whichopened up the large market of China-Australia cross-border legal service. Mr.Liu hoped that the two firms could take this opportunity to cooperate with eachother and strive for win-win results. In the end, Mr. Yingfu Luo introduced theaccomplishment of Tahota Chongqing Office in international legal services.
